Raffi Cohen began his career developing apartments, retail centers, and office buildings before turning to large-scale development in Downtown Los Angeles, where he built close working relationships with the City of Los Angeles and the State of California. Where others saw a rundown block of Figueroa Street, he saw Figueroa Plaza: a 660,000 square foot twin office tower complex at First and Figueroa.

Today Figueroa Plaza is owned by the City of Los Angeles and serves as the center of its development services, home to the Department of Building and Safety, City Planning, and the Bureau of Engineering. Nearly every project in Los Angeles, including our own, now moves through the building Raffi built. Even through Downtown's recent downturn, it has remained fully occupied.

In Beverly Hills, Raffi earned an architectural award from the City for his extensive renovation of 421 South Beverly Drive, and pioneered office-to-residential conversion with Blu Beverly Hills, transforming an underperforming office building into luxury rental apartments, the first project of its kind in the city
